Why buy single-origin, freshly roasted coffee?

I’ve been obsessed with coffee since I was a teenager. I love it so much that my doctor once told me to drink less (I obliged, but only for a time). I was happy to drink my generic, grocery store-bought grounds and occasionally indulged in a treat from my favorite coffee chain.

Then one day, one glorious day, I received my first cup of freshly roasted, single-origin coffee, and my life hasn’t been the same since. The world suddenly seemed full of beauty and color and I questioned whether I had ever really drank coffee before.
